Richards Career Academy, Chicago Public Schools Addition included two large commercial teaching kitchens,adjoining classroom, and dining area for the Culinary Arts Program, a Biology Science Lab and a classroom with hospital beds and equipment for the Pre-Nursing / Med. Tech. Program.

The Addition also housed a Library, a computer Lab, and the new Main Office that would serve the entire school campus and provided for ADA accessibility needs. An elevator was added at the juncture between the addition and the main building to the north where the elevator serves both buildings.
