A studio apartment within Sandburg Village was gutted and remodeled for a cook. Dispensing with the walls surrounding the old kitchen, the new kitchen outgrew the old foot print and took over the rest of the apartment to the delight of the homeowner. Color was used to enliven the small sunny space, wood cabinets were chosen to warm the environment, a modern palette was selected to enhance the context of the early 70’s modern high-rise towers on the near north side of Chicago.
